Zhangbei-Xiong’an 1000kV UHV AC Transmission and Transformation Project Completed
On July 21, the Zhangbei-Xiongan 1000kV UHV AC Transmission and Transformation Project (North Hebei Section) was completed as the last phase conductor in the 3R003~3R012 section of Yu County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province was pulled in place. Prior to this, the project (Hebei section) was completed on July 18. So far, the Zhangbei-Xiongan 1000kV UHV AC transmission and transformation project has been completed.

The Zhangbei-Xiong’an 1000kV UHV AC transmission and transformation project has a total length of 2×319.9 kilometers. It starts from Zhangjiakou Zhangbei UHV Substation and ends at Baoding Xiong’an UHV Substation, passing Zhangbei County, Wanquan District, Zhangjiakou There are 9 counties (districts) in Huaian County, Yangyuan County, Yu County and Baoding Laiyuan County, Yi County, Xushui District and Dingxing County. The total length of the Hebei section of the project is 2×218 kilometers, of which 2×132 kilometers are erected on the same tower with double circuits, and the remaining 2×86 kilometers are erected in parallel with two single circuits. 558 new towers are newly built; the Hebei section of the project is newly built 234 foundations .
Since the construction of the project was officially started in March 2019, under the coordination of the UHV Department of State Grid Co., Ltd., the construction and management units State Grid Jibei Electric Power Co., Ltd. and State Grid Hebei Electric Power Co., Ltd. have overcome the high difficulty of construction and short effective construction period. , Difficulties such as high pressure on epidemic prevention and control, strengthen communication and coordination with local governments and construction units, and timely deal with various problems in construction to ensure the smooth completion of the project.
As an important part of the UHV grid in North China and the key grid project of the State Grid Co., Ltd., the Zhangbei-Xiong’an 1000 kV UHV AC transmission and transformation project relies on long-distance, large-capacity UHV AC transmission technology. Transmit the abundant clean electric power from Zhangjiakou area to the load center of Xiongan New Area to avoid aggravating the “North-South Power Transmission” tide crossing of Beijing’s 500kV ring network. After it is completed and put into operation, it will deliver more than 7 billion kWh of clean electricity to Xiongan New Area every year Energy and electricity can realize 100% clean energy power supply in Xiongan New Area.
